Race Report 5/24-5/25
New Hampshire Motor Speedway

For the 2nd time this year, the Hot-Laps Karting SCCA car took to the track at Loudon, NH this past weekend. Being the 2nd time in the new car, BJ Piekarski felt very comfortable with the handling, and had high expectations going in. Right off the bat in qualifying, the PBJ Motorsports car was one of the quickest vehicles at the track, and out of the 36 car field, Piekarski was able to post a qualifying lap of 13th best. As the first of two races came around, Piekarski took the green flag and was shuffled back to the 15th position after being caught in the high groove the first lap. Piekarski was then able to pick up spot after spot, working his way up to 11th before battling lap after lap swapping positions with fellow competitor Sean Siff.

For the race on Sunday, Piekarski lined up 9th on the grid, and jumped to the inside at the start and began to
pick up positions, while going 3 wide into turn one. BJ Piekarski was able to capitalize on great performance
and picked up his first top 5 finish of the season, while finishing 5th overall.

From the driver:
“I would like to thank my crew and guys for the support this weekend and they did an awesome job helping out. I'd like to send a special thanks to my dad, Mark, brother Chase, Dave Helliwell, and Laura Hall. After how we improved from the last race here, I'm really looking forward to coming back in June.”
