PBJ MOTORSPORTS 2003
I would like to first start off by apologizing for the recent lack of
press releases over the last month. It has been a very draining end of the
season, as we have all been extremely busy. Other than that it has
definitely been an interesting season to say the least. The season
started off looking like it was going to be an outstanding year. The first
race was probably one of our best races of the year, since we started back
in the 17th spot, and worked our way up to 5th. The following weekend
turned out to be a nightmare, as we completely demolished the chassis,
bending the front and rear clip. After that race, we came back with full
steam to finish 3rd in the nights feature. The following months we
struggled, week after week, becoming involved in many different incidents
and altercations. After our mid season struggles the team clicked in
mid-August, and it seemed that we could run in the top five every week. We
finished the season off by knocking off 3 top fives in our last 5 races.
Even though we finished 12th in points this season, our race by race
average amount of points won would have put us 3rd place in points if we
competed in all the races. Our season consisted of 4 heat wins, 6 top five
finishes, and 9 top ten finishes, in only 12 races.
One of the recent highlights for PBJ
Motorsports, was running the ACT (American Canadian Tour) 100 lapper at
Lee Speedway. After drawing the last place starting position for the race,
BJ had to start from the back in the 34th position. After struggling in
the first half of the race, due to a bad set of tires. BJ worked his way
up to about the 25th position with 10 laps to go. In the last 10 laps,
Piekarski passed 3 cars and crossed the line in 22nd position. He was ties
with one other driver for the Hard Charger Award, which is awarded to the
driver that picks up the most positions during a race.
Your efforts in helping the team was really
more than I can thank you for. I am really looking forward to next season,
and I am hoping that you will continue to support and be part of PBJ
Motorsports, and hopefully we can take a couple trips to victory lane in
2004! Thank you and hope
to see you in the pits in 2004,
Brenton Piekarski #10 [ Previous Page ] |
